Level 1A – Fundamentals Course
This one-day
course is the most widely required since it affects general contractors,
builders, developers, site superintendents, grading and utility
contractors, local governments, and monitoring consultants.
Eligibility Requirements
Ø
You must submit an
application and prepay the $145.00 registration fee (includes course
materials and lunch)
Ø
You must
present a photo ID on the day of the course and exam
Ø
You must complete a
written exam and achieve a passing score of 70 or higher
Level 1A and 1B Re-Certification Courses
This
four-hour
course is required by law for certified individuals every three years to
maintain their certification status. There is a course for both Level 1A
& 1B recertification.
Eligibility Requirements
Ø
According to State law, a certified individual shall be required to
attend and participate in at least four
hours of approved continuing
education courses, as established by the Commission, every three years.

You must submit an
application and prepay the $75.00 registration fee (includes course
materials
and break).
Ø
You must present a photo ID and a current certification card on the day of the course.
Ø
There is no exam for this course.

Second Floor
Level 1B – Advanced Fundamentals Course
This is a
two-day course designed to train regulatory enforcement inspectors and
non-regulatory personnel inspectors contracted to do regulatory work to
accurately inspect land disturbance areas for compliance with state
erosion and sedimentation laws. The course will cover several topics
such as the role of the inspector, ES&PC planning and review, and local
program overview criteria.
Eligibility Requirements
Ø
You must submit an
application and prepay the $225.00 registration fee (includes course
materials and lunch).
Ø
You must have at least 60
days of work experience in the field of erosion and sediment control. In
lieu of 60 days work experience, an individual may obtain Level 1A
certification.
Ø
You must attend a 2 day (16 hour) certification course.
Ø
You must
present a photo ID and score 70 or above on the certification exam.
